Date: This event is Saturday, February 8th.
Location: Department of Transportation, Augusta, ME
Time: Volunteers meet at 8:30 am
8:30 Building Open, Volunteers prepare for event
9:00 - 9:10 - Registration
9:10 - 11:45 pm - Scouts design, build and test their Balloon Cars with women engineering mentors in small groups. Help scouts get ready for the GSME (Girl Scouts of Maine) Grandest Prix to be held in June 2020.
11:45 Wrap-up/Presentation of Badges
12:00 - 12:30 Clean up by SWE Volunteers
We have over 25 junior Girl Scouts, so many volunteers are needed. A review of the concepts and principles of engineering during activity will be required.

Certificate of Merit Requests
Date: May 2019
Each year, the Maine Section provides a Certificate of Merit to a High School Junior who has excelled in Science and Mathematics for three years. Typically a High School Counselor provides the girls information to our coordinator and we provide the certificate either as a paper copy or electronic for printing by the high school.
High Schools with nominations should send their recipient information to Rhonda Forrester at rnf@smemaine.com
